Sister Nivedita’s 150th birth centenary celebrations

      

      

In connection with the 150th birth centenary celebrations of Sister Nivedita (a disciple of Swami Vivekananda, Pioneer of women education in India and Indian Freedom fighter) a lecture series was organized to make the students community aware of Sister Nivedita’s contributions to India.

      

The lectures were delivered by Smt. Shriya Banerjee, Research Scholar, Kolkata on 23rd, 24th and 25th of May 2016 to the students of our instution.

Sri Sri Kali Puja was celebrated at Devabhumi temples.

Sri Sri Kali Puja was celebrated on 29th of October, Saturday at Devabhumi temples. Special Puja, havan etc., were performed and prasada was served to all present.

      

      

Winter relief

 

      

      

     

On the approach of winter the mission has begun its relief programme to the poor and needy.

On 03rd November 2016, in a winter and distress relief work, blankets and sweat shirts (35 each) were distributed among the 35 fire affected families of Tinkonia Basti of Tinsukia district, Assam.

      

      

On 27th November 2016 garments were distributed among the poor and needy in Lakla Pather area and Longtong 3rd Mile area of Mergherita, Assam. (Garments: Gents:- Shirt, Trouser and Sweater � 1 no. each, Ladies:- Top & Trouser � 1 no. each)

 

A special free medical checkup and treatment camp was conducted on 13th November 2016

 

      

      

      

A special free medical checkup and treatment camp was conducted on 13th November 2016 with the help of Lions Club of Dibrugarh. 9 specialist doctors (Dental, Orthopedic and Medicine) who are generally unavailable for poor villagers residing in remote jungle areas attended the camp. The camp was held at our Swasti Hospital from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. In which a total number of 308 patients were treated by and supplied with free medicines.

Children’s Day was celebrated at our Primary Hostel

 

      

      

On November 14th, 2016 Children’s Day was celebrated at our Primary Hostel. Children of Primary Hostel have staged colourful cultural programme that evening in the hostel.

An awareness program on Free and Open Source Software

 

 

      

An awareness program on Free and Open Source Software, an ICT enabled learning programme under National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology, MHRD, Govt. of India & Spoken Tutorial Team, IIT Mumbai was held in association with Women’s College, Tinsukia at our Higher Secondary School on 21.11.2016.

Inter-block basketball competition

      

      

The Higher Secondary Final Inter-block basketball competition was held between Acharya Ramanuja Block and Acharya Shankara Block on 21.11.2016 at our Higher Secondary Basketball court. Acharya Ramanuja Block bagged the trophy.

Inter block cricket competition

 

      

      

The Higher Secondary Final Inter block cricket competition was held between Acharya Ramanuja block and Acharya Madhva Block on 29.11.2016 at our Higher Secondary Field. Achary Ramanuja Block won the tournament.
